Academic Profiling Test

The Academic Profiling Test (APT) was created to help families better understand how their child is doing academically.
It’s a great first step if you're looking for education advice, as it shows exactly how your child compares to those of exactly the same age in UK schools. The test is taken online from home and can highlight any learning gaps, show progress over time, or help when applying to schools.
It also gives your consultant key information so they can recommend the best learning environment for your child.
Helping you understand your child's potential
The APT is an easy-to-use online test for children aged 6 to 16, taken from the comfort of home. It gives a clear picture of how your child is doing compared to UK national standards. Created by a team of education experts – including a former headteacher – the APT helps measure each child’s unique strengths and learning style.
It’s a useful tool for spotting any learning gaps, tracking progress over time, or preparing for other tests like the UKiset, ISEB Pre-test, or 11+ exams.
Once completed, the results are shared with schools as part of a personalised Individual Learner Profile, which we put together after talking with the child and their family. Many UK schools value the clear, detailed information the APT provides – it helps them decide if their school is the right fit and also highlights a student’s potential, not just their current level.
Understanding the Report and Data
APT is a smart test that looks at how a student compares to others of their age. Knowing how to read the results really helps you get the most out of it - you will always have a feedback session with expert to go over what it all means for your child. When delivered by Right Place Education, that expert is the APT’s co-founder, Jimmy Beale.
The report and feedback will give you a good idea of which schools might be a good fit, highlight areas to focus on, and help plan the best way forward.
